Graft-chimaera

A Pfropfchimäre is a term from biology, with which a plant is called, which has arisen from two genetically different types of output. A Pfropfchimäre created at / from the point of contact between the base and precious rice and identifies characteristics of the two types of output.

It is not a hybrid in the true sense, as a Pfropfchimäre contains various cells with the relevant genetic information of the two parental species, while in the cells of hybrids, the genetic information is fused together.

A graft is in contrast from genetically distinct backing and a scion - do not mix up the contact at the site of grafting.

Designation

As a formula

The names of the output types are listed in alphabetical order and by the plus sign ( ) connected: Crataegus Mespilus

As name

If the output types different genera belong, it can be given a name, which composed of the names of the two genres. Example: Crataegomespilus is the name of a Pfropfchimäre ( consisting of representatives of the genera Crataegus and Mespilus ), which can also be written as Crataegus Mespilus.

If the output species of the same genus belong, the Pfropfchimäre can get a cultivar name - Examples: Syringa ' Correlata ' is a Pfropfchimäre of Syringa vulgaris ( common lilac) and Syringa × chinensis ( a hybrid between S. vulgaris and S. laciniata ). Aesculus dallimorei is a Pfropfchimäre from A. hippocastanum and A. flava. This can be done without the " " sign, since both types of output same family.

A Pfropfchimäre may not be designated as a species, because it is made from genetically two ways.
