Graham Rust

Graham Rust ( born 1942 in Hertfordshire, England) is an internationally renowned artist and muralist.

Life

Graham Rust studied drawing and painting at the Polytechnic School of Art, the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London and Woodbury School in Virginia, USA. After he had worked for two years for the " Architectural Forum " Times Inc., dedicated to freelance art and was particularly emerged as a muralist and trompe - l'oeil artist. Over the next decades, he led numerous internationally from wall and ceiling paintings.

Graham Rust lives and works in the English Suffolk.

Work

His most famous work is his Graham Rust Mural painting "The Temptation" ( The Temptation of Jesus Christ ) in the hall of Ragley Hall near Alcester in Warwickshire. Commissioned by the owner of the castle, the 8th Marquess of Hertford in order, he worked for 14 years, from 1969 to 1983, in this work, which is one among other numerous members of the family of the Marquis and Marquess of Hertford on a gallery in illusionary painted portico shows.

In addition to his artistic work, he also emerged as an author and has written several books, including "The Painted House ", which was translated into several languages ​​and the example of an imaginary villa shows possible murals and designs for each room.
