Gramoz Ruçi

Gramoz RuCl (December 6, 1951 in Tepelenë ) is an Albanian politician (PS).

Career

Training

Gramoz ruci was born in the southern Albanian Tepelenë and completed his studies at the Pedagogical Institute in Shkodra, now the University of Shkodra. He then studied biochemistry at the Eqerem - Çabej University in Gjirokastra and then also completed a postgraduate course.

Political career

Gramoz ruci already held in communist Albania 1978-1991 several political and state offices. He was most recently in 1991 for a short time Minister of the Interior nor as a member of the Party of Labour of Albania. After the founding of the Socialist Party on 13 June 1991, he assumed the office of the Secretary to the year 1996, when he passed it on to Rexhep Meidani.

1999 was followed by another term as Secretary General of the PS, which lasted until 2005. After the defeat of the socialists in the parliamentary elections of 2005, on the Prime Minister and long-time party leader Fatos Nano from politics withdrew and Gramoz ruci took over for a short time the party chairmanship. Edi Rama was then elected to succeed Nanos in the same year.

Between 1998 and 1999 ruci was leader of the Socialists in Parliament. Now Since 2010 he has held this office again.

Ruci is also since 1991 a member of parliament for the Qark Fier.
