The Valira, sometimes listed as Gran Valira, is a river in Andorra, which flows in a north-south direction to Spain.

Course

It rises in the Andorra Circ dels Pessons, near Encamp, and flows in the form of a "Y". The two main arms (also Valira d' Orient ) called Valira d' Ordino (also Valira del Nord) and Valira d' Encamp, they unite in Les Escaldes. On its further way it flows through Andorra la Vella. Across the border it flows in Catalonia in La Seu d' Urgell in the Segre. Its water later flows over the Ebro in the Mediterranean Sea. The length of the Valira is 44 km.
