Grand Archives

Grand Archives is an American indie rock band from Seattle. It was founded in 2006 on the initiative of the former Band of Horses member Mat Brooke under their original names Archives.

History

After his departure from Band of Horses in 2006, Mat Brooke founded with Jeff Montano and Curtis Hall, the band archives. Ron Lewis joined during the year as well as the group as Thomas Wright, who belongs to the band since the beginning of 2007. In March 2007 they released the first two songs on their Myspace page. This was followed by a performance with Sera Cahoone Carissa 's Wierd and of recording the track " Sleep Driving" in the Forkcast playlist from Pitchfork Media, which the band was known a wider public.

The Grand Archives

The debut album was released in 2008 under the title The Grand Archives. Following the publication of a tour followed by the United States and Europe.

Keep in Mind Frankenstein

The release of their second album Keep in Mind Frankenstein in 2009 were followed by an extensive tour through the U.S., Europe and Canada. On 5 February, the Grand Archives played their first show in the UK. In this performance, the group of four by Robin Peringer (guitar, keyboards) and Jason Kardong (guitar) was supported after Ron Lewis had taken his leave.

Villains

During her 2010 tour several new pieces were presented based on the unfinished third album Villains (Approximate title ) will be found.

Since October 7, 2010, a total of seven demo recordings were offered as a demo EP for free download on the official website.
