Grand Corps Malade

Grand Corps Malade ( born July 31, 1977 in Le Blanc -Mesnil, Seine- Saint- Denis, France), actually Fabien Marsaud, is a French poetry slam artist. The stage name, translates to " Big sick body ", he wears since 2003 after an accident in 1997 his abdomen partially paralyzed.

Life

Marsaud grew up in Paris. 1997 shifted to a bad jump into a swimming pool of its swirling since his legs are paralyzed. He managed to 1999, with the aid of a crutch move alone again, which has become his trademark.

After joining in 2003 in the French Slam scene, he took the pen name " Grand Corps Malade " and rose for the first time in October in a Paris bar to the stage. He slowly gained a foothold and won, also by several victories in Slam competitions, more and more notoriety.

In 2004 he founded with six other colleagues Le Cercle des poètes sans instrument ( German " The circle of poets without education "). The group consisted among other things of the members of the collective 129H, which were the forerunners of the genre in France. Together they performed at many music festivals. 2005 Grand Corps Malade founded the Flow d' encre ( German " ink flow " ) and animates since different active writing and slam groups in social institutions, schools and retirement homes.

2005 suggested that he is a friend to write a musical accompaniment for his lyrics, whereupon Grand Corps Malade his first album titled Midi 20 (Eng. " 12:20 " ) recorded. When the album was released on 27 March 2006, it quickly rose to the top of the charts.

After his first album Grand Corps Malade launched a major tour of France, in which he appeared 2007 120 times larger audience to the end. On 10 March 2007 he was at the event Victoires de la Musique with the prices for the newcomer of the year and the debut album of the year ( artiste de l' année and révélation album révélation de l' année ) excellent. On 31 March 2008 his second album enfant de la ville appeared ( German " city kid ").
