Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich of Russia

Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich Romanov (born 25 Septemberjul / October 7 1869greg in Borjomi, Georgia, .. † July 18, 1918 in Alapayevsk ) was a member of the house of Romanov -Holstein -Gottorp.

Life

Sergei was the fifth son of Grand Duke Michael Nikolaevich Romanov (1832-1909) and his wife Princess Cecilia of Baden (1839-1891), named after their marriage Olga Feodorovna.

For attention caused his affair with the Russian ballerina Matilda Kschessinskaja, as these had the same time as yet another relationship with Sergei's cousin Andrei Vladimirovich Romanov. It therefore comes as one of the two possible fathers of Kschessinskajas 1902 born son Vladimir Romanovsky - Krasinsky in question; paternity could never be clarified beyond doubt.
