Grand Master of France

The Grand Master of France (French: Grand Maître de France until about 1380 Souverain Maître d' hôtel du Roi, then to 1388 Grand Maître d' hôtel du Roi ) was in the France of the Ancien Régime and the restoration of the Lord High Steward of the royal house. Opposite him put all the officers of the king the oath (see: Great offices of the crown of France ).

The Grand Master of France was, as the Constable, the marshals, the United Jägermeister and others, one of the great officers of the crown (French: Grand Officiers de la Couronne ). His office badge was a gold-plated silver bar with the Bourbon lilies, similar to the marshal's baton, with a royal crown on the top. The Grand Master added their coat of arms two crossed bars added as decorative coat of arms.

A similar office was the first empire of the grand marshal of the palace.
