Grand Prix der Volksmusik

The Grand Prix of folk music was a 1986-2010 annual competition taking place folk music which was launched by Sepp Trütsch. Initially, only artists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland participated. Since 2000, South Tyrol took part in this competition and had made ​​five times the winner in these eleven years.

This Grand Prix was organized as a co-production of ORF, ZDF, SF DRS and Rai Sender Bozen from the " Association for the Promotion of musical entertainment " ( in Austria chaired by Günter Tolar ). On 15 September 2010, the station announced -discharging due to the low ratings the end for the Grand Prix.
