Grand Trunk Corporation

The Grand Trunk Corporation ( GTW ) is a Class 1 railroad in the United States. The company is Montreal. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian National Railway ( CN). It is responsible for the overall activities of the CN railway in the United States.

History

On 20 December 1918, decided with the establishment of the State Canadian National Railways to take over the bankrupt or threatened by bankruptcy railways in Canada. In this context, the Grand Trunk Railway System ( GTR) and its subsidiary Grand Trunk Western ( GTW ) was intended to take over. On May 21, 1920 This takeover was completed.
