Grant Aleksander

Grant Aleksander ( born August 6, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland; actually Grant Kunkowski ) is an American actor.

Life

Grant Aleksander studied theater at Washington and Lee University in Lexington ( Virginia). After graduating, he moved to New York where he worked for some time as a model and waiter before he gave his debut in 1982 in the television series Young fates (English ABC Afterschool Specials ). A year later, he went into the soap Guiding Light, where he played the role of Phillip Granville Spaulding in 145 episodes from 1983 to 1984, from 1986 to 1991 and from 1996 to 2004. He also had some minor roles in television series such as All My Children and Who 's the Boss? .

In 1998 he won jointly with Beth Ehlers the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Screen Couple. A further seven times he was nominated for this award. In 1998, he also received an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor, 2003 and 2004 for best actor.

Grant Aleksander is married to Sherry Ramsey since 1987. He is an active member of PETA.
