Greenvale Reservoir

The Greenvale Reservoir is a reservoir in the south of the Australian state of Victoria. The lake is located in the north- west of Melbourne, about 20 km from the city center in the valley of Yuroke Creek, a tributary of the Moonee Ponds Creek. It is not principally fed by natural inflows, but through supply lines from the Silvan Reservoir, 60 km away to the east of Melbourne. It supplies the west of Melbourne with drinking water. The district Greenvale, which lies south of the reservoir, has given him his name.

The Greenvale Reservoir Park was laid out to the south and west of the 1973 completed the reservoir, contains picnic areas and a playground and is managed by Parks Victoria. The reservoir itself and its dam were opened on April 18, 1973, are under the management of Melbourne Water.
