Gregor Jordan

Gregor Jordan (born 1966 in Sale, Victoria ) is an Australian film director and screenwriter.

Life

His debut as director and screenwriter gave Gregor Jordan with the short film Swingers from the year 1995. For this film, Jordan was honored at the Cannes Film Festival with the Jury Prize for Best Short Film. He was also nominated for the Golden Palm. Also in 1995, the film Stitched in which the actor John Polson took over a role originated.

In the following years he worked for television and directed numerous episodes for several TV series. In 1999 first feature film was made with the action film Two Hands Jordan. The film was awarded primarily in Australia with numerous film awards. The main role was played by Heath Ledger. Two years later, Jordan directed the satire Army Go Home! , Where he was involved as a scriptwriter and for which he was in 2004 awarded the Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Screenplay.

In 2003, he turned with Lawless - The Story of Ned Kelly, a biopic about the Australian highwayman Ned Kelly. This film meant the second collaboration with Heath Ledger, who once again took over the lead role here. The following year, he staged with These Days: Powderfinger Live in Concert a concert film with and about the Australian band Powderfinger.

Gregor Jordan is in a relationship with actress Simone Kessell, 2005 was born their child.
