Gregory Smith (actor)

Gregory Smith (actually: Gregory Edward Smith, born July 6, 1983 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian-American actor.

Gregory, who has dual citizenship of Canada and the U.S., grew up as the oldest of four children of film producer Maurice Smith and his wife Terrea. Already at 14 months was Gregory Smith for various commercials before the camera. At the age of eight, he in 1991 received his first film role as a guest star in the television series Street Justice.

At 15, he starred in the film Small Soldiers by Joe Dante starring Kirsten Dunst as with film partner. Two years later he played the role of Thomas Martin in Roland Emmerich's The Patriot alongside Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger, Jason Isaacs and Joely Richardson.

From 2002 to 2006 he played a starring role in the television series Everwood, with whom he became in America for teen idol. Since 2010, Smith has a major role as Dov Epstein in the Canadian television series Rookie Blue.

Gregory Smith's younger brother Douglas Smith is also an actor.
