Gretchen Bleiler

Gretchen Bleiler ( born April 10, 1981 in Toledo, Ohio) is an American professional snowboarder.

Career

Gretchen Bleiler began in 1992 with the snowboarding and in 1996 was a professional athlete. In 2002, she just missed qualifying for the U.S. Olympic team. In 2003, she won eight contests in a row, including the Winter X Games, the U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix and the World Superpipe Championship, as well as the overall World Cup. After she failed a season due to injury, she returned in 2005. In 2006, she won four out of five World Cup competitions and won again the overall World Cup. At the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin, she won the silver medal behind Hannah Teter in the halfpipe competition. In 2008, she won a second time, the Winter X Games.
