The ionotropic glutamate receptor, AMPA 4, also known as GRIA4 or GluR4, is a human protein.

This membrane protein is a member of the glutamate- gated ion channels and provides a fast excitatory signal transmission at synapses. The channel type known as AMPA agonists. The gene encoding this protein is considered to be one of the many candidate genes schizophrenia. For GRIA 4 generated by alternative splicing of mRNA variants are also known which encode different isoforms of the protein subunits.
