Grimes (musician)
Claire Boucher ( born March 17, 1988 in Vancouver ), better known by her stage name Grimes, is a Canadian singer.
Biography and career
Boucher was born in Vancouver and grew up there. At 18, she went to study to Montreal. During her studies she started performing under the name Grimes and shoot.
Their debut album was released in 2010 Geidi Primes. Also in 2010, the second album was released Halfaxa. Both are available for free on the Internet. 2011 Grimes played as support for Lykke Li on their North American tour. In the same year also appeared the third album Dark Bloom, consisting of five tracks from Grimes and d' Eon of four.
Since 2012, Grimes is the independent British record label 4AD under contract. There was published in March 2012, the international debut album Visions.
Among other things, their style of music with Enya, Aphex Twin, TLC and Madonna is compared. The NME Magazine Grimes has chosen # 1 in the " 20 Most Exciting New Bands Of 2012".
