Gröndals IK

The Gröndals Idrottsklubb is a Swedish sports club from the city of Stockholm County Hägersten - Liljeholmen. He is primarily known for its football team, which is accrued currently in the third-class Division 1.

History

On December 16, 1928, the Gröndals IF was founded. In addition to football and bandy it was also briefly a handball section. A few years later was established as local competition Gröndals AIS. 1937 merged the two clubs and the new club was to the still current name.

1953 was the football team of Gröndals IK make first nationwide attention, as the third-class Division 3 Östra Svealand was reached. The direct walkover in the second division was missed in third place behind Södertälje SK and Katrineholms AIK. To the surprise success of the first season, the club was unable to repeat in the following years. In 1957, he rose again and was put through to the next season in the Fünftklassigkeit.

1961 succeeded Gröndals IK return to the fourth division. Apart from a brief interlude in the Fünftklassigkeit 1965, the club was able to establish in the fourth division and belonged to the renewed descent 1977, the Game class. After four years in the regional league area succeeded before the season 1981, the resurgence in the fourth division, from which one had to descend again after two seasons. The direct re-emergence followed the championship in Division 4 Stockholm Södra and so after 25 years of the return to the third division.

However Gröndals IK missed as a table next to last in the league in Division 3 Östra Svealand. After a sixth place in the following season the team in 1986 fell victim to a league reform and came into the now fifth rate Division 4 Stockholm Södra. After the immediate promotion to the fourth division, the club was forced to leave the league down again in 1991.

After several years in the fifth level of play is Gröndals IK 2001 announced as winner of the Season Division 4 Stockholm Mellersta back in Viertklassigkeit. There, the team was able to establish and qualified in 2005 as part of a renewed League reform as a runner-up for the fourth-rate Division 2 Östra Svealand. There, the club managed to win the season so that the team could return in 2007 to the third tier again. There they sat stuck in the middle table space.
