Most Gerau Train Station is about 500 meters north of the center of the Hessian county town of Groß-Gerau at the Wiesbaden / Mainz to Darmstadt / Aschaffenburg leading Rhine -Main Railway. There branches a connecting curve to the nearby railway United Gerau Dornsberg from the Riedbahn. Unlike the eponymous city being written without a hyphen. This is explained by the Prussian write regulation of 1910 According to her the spelling of the town and county name with a distinctive prefix word as Old, New, Large, Small, Bergisch, German and so was -. Unless they are now already written in one word - without a hyphen, whereas for those that are composed of two or more root name such as Schleswig -Holstein, Beeskow - Storkow etc. with a hyphen as the official correct set .. This rule did not apply in the Grand Duchy of Hesse, but very well for the plants the Prussian - Hessian railway Community of which belonged to the train station.
