Großer Priepertsee

The Great Priepertsee is located in the district of Mecklenburg Lake 15 km south of Neustrelitz. It is about 2.3 kilometers long and i.m. 600 meters wide and is part of the small lakes in Mecklenburg Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is crossed from north to south of the river Havel.

The lake is located at the municipality of Priepert. At the southernmost point at the transition to Ellbogensee, the place itself is Priepert The lake has an approximately rectangular shape with a distinctive bay the little Priepertsee in the northern half. The deepest part of the lake with about 32 meters is located in the southern part of the lake.

The Great Priepertsee is part of the 97 -kilometer-long federal waterway Upper Havel Waterway ( OHW ) of the waterway class I; responsible is the Waterways and Shipping Office Eberswalde.

On the Priepertsee there is a buoyed water ski area.
