Groundation

The California reggae band Groundation was founded in 1998 by Marcus Urani, Ryan Newman and Harrison Stafford, who were musically active already long. In the same year they produced their first album Tribute To The Roots, which contained, besides its own Tune mainly reinterpreted classics. In 2000, Groundation has been supplemented by a brass section, In 2001 the drummer.

The band has developed its own interpretation of reggae, in which mainly jazz influences play an important role.

The band's name evolved from the idea of dealing of people without hierarchies or class differences with each other. This led to the desire on a common plane to talk to each other and learn from each other - Each One Teach One.

All releases of the band appeared on his own label Young Tree, which was founded by Harrison Stafford and Kris Dilbeck.
