Groups of Austrian states

As a group of states, the statistical regions at NUTS -1 in Austria are designated as within the statistical structure of the EU NUTS: AT are structured.

Function

These are regions of the European Community, have been created for comparative statistical purposes. Criterion is a population of between about 3 and 7 million inhabitants. On the basis of such regions, the units of the Member States in the framework of Eurostat can be compared.
