Grover Norquist

Grover Norquist Glenn (* October 19, 1956 in Sharon, Pennsylvania) is a conservative activist and lobbyist. He is president of the influential U.S. advocacy Americans for Tax Reform.

He has taken the vow since 1986 almost all the Members of the Republican Party, never to raise taxes. This policy led according to critics of U.S. fiscal crisis in 2011. Norquist does not consider this a problem, but sees this as an " opportunity for all taxpayers ." Now the government was finally forced to reduce government expenditure significantly. A possible compromise to combine great savings with only minimal tax increases, he strictly refuses.

Norquist was instrumental in the presidential candidacy of George W. Bush in 1998.

Norquist is a member of the board of the National Rifle Association.
