Quaking on groundless lake

The Gratuitous Moor is the largest still almost intact raised bog in County Heidekreis, Lower Saxony. It is designated as a nature reserve.

Description

The 295 -acre Gratuitous Moor is located approximately 3.5 kilometers north of the village Fulde ( hamlet of the town of Walsrode ) and five kilometers north- west of the center of Walsrode.

The bog was formerly used especially in its southern part to cutting peat, regenerates after each Vernässungsmaßnahmen but again. The lake shore are mostly formed by wave action as a clear edge, just to the southwest tower quaking far into the lake. The reason lots of bog cotton grass, cranberry, peat moss and heather come before, as well as in large flocks bog bilberry.

The bog has developed in the northeast half of a good 4 -kilometer Talung, which is enclosed by two parallel Endmoränenwällen inconspicuous. The hills at the edge and the sink itself are covered by ground moraine from the Saale glaciation. Drained it is by a moat, which is the upper reaches of the Fulde.

Commission Regulation of 30 July 1990, the Groundless bog was declared ( with the license plate number NSG LÜ 185 ) Nature Reserve. Jurisdiction of the District of Heidekreis as the lower nature conservation authority.

Reason Loser lake

Located in the groundless Moor is the reason lots lake. The good 2 meters deep lake is from north to south, 435 meters long and in the northern range up to 160 meters wide. It has an area of 4.7 acres, and is 72.5 meters above mean sea level. About 400 meters northeast of Little Lake is located about 60 meters in diameter.

The reason lots lake was originally a glacial lake left behind almost silted up, its preservation is due not only to the abdämmende raised peat bog, but also by processes of a Hochmoorkolkbildung.

The lake can be by hiking parking in the East ( Ebbingen ) and south ( north of Fulde ) hike around from close to the shore. There is a small swimming plate on its banks.

In the Upper Bavarian, near the Chiemsee lake, there is a lake of the same name.
