Gu Guangming

Gu Guangming (Chinese古 广 明; mostly in German Gu Guangming written; born January 31, 1959) is a Chinese former football player.

The first German station Gus was the TuS Koblenz. In 1987 he moved to SV Darmstadt 98 On July 22, 1987, he debuted as the first Chinese in German professional football. In the match at the 1 FC Saarbrücken, he came on in the 34th minute for Rafael Sanchez; shortly before the end of the game he scored his first goal for the 2-0 win for the " Lilies". For Darmstadt he played until 1992, in the midfield and in the attack in the second league. In 108 second league games he scored 8 goals and twice got the red card.

With the national Gu played in the qualifying round for the 1980 Olympic Games, the encounters are not counted by FIFA as 'A' matches. Also in the qualifiers for the World Championships in 1982 and 1986, he was an integral part of the Chinese squad. Still in 1992, he joined in Beijing for China under coach Klaus Schlappner in a tournament game against North Korea.
