The River Guadalope is a 160 km long right-hand tributary of the Ebro in the northeast of Spain. Its catchment area covers an area of ​​3890 km ². It is the second largest right tributary of the Ebro.

Geography

The Guadalope rises in the Sierra de Gúdar in the province of Teruel and generally flows in a northeasterly direction across Alcaniz until it opens at Caspe in the dammed by the Embalse de Ebro Mequinenza. The water flow is regulated by reservoirs, namely Aliaga on the upper reaches, and Santolea Calanda on the middle reaches and the lower reaches of Caspe. In its course the Guadalope touched the places Santolea, Calanda and Civan. Tributaries are the Bergantes and Guadalopillo with the reservoir Gallipuén and Fortanete the Bordón, the Mezquín and Aliaga. In the catchment area of the Guadalope is also the dam of La Estanca de Alcaniz.
