Gudrun Zapf-von Hesse

Gudrun Zapf-von Hesse ( born January 2, 1918 in Schwerin ) is an internationally renowned German typographer and bookbinder.

Biography

After a bookbinder 1937-1940 at Otto Dorfner and her master's examination in 1940 she took in 1941 writing lessons with John Böhland. From 1946 to 1954 she taught at the Städel School in Frankfurt the Technical Report; at the same time (1946-1955) they ran a bookbinding workshop. Since 1972, the married with Hermann Zapf, Gudrun Zapf-von Hesse lives in Darmstadt.
