Guécélard

Guécélard is a municipality with 2793 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the canton of La Suze- sur -Sarthe in France. It is located in the department of Sarthe and in the Pays de la Loire. Its inhabitants are called Guécélardais.

Geography

Guécélard is located about 15 kilometers south of Le Mans. In Guécélard the Rhonne joins the Sarthe, which forms the northwestern boundary of the municipality.

Demographics

The population of Guécélard has increased from 1962 to 2008 - from 589 to 2,674 inhabitants.

Infrastructure

Guécélard is located on the highway from Le Mans to La Flèche. A connection to the Autoroute A28 from Le Mans to Tours is 15 km north-west of Guécélard.
