Guernsey Airport (English: Guernsey Airport ) is a commercial airport on the British island of Guernsey, which is considered one of the Channel Islands. The airport is located about 3 kilometers southwest of the capital of Guernsey, St Peter Port.

History

Guernsey Airport was originally opened as the airfield with simple grass slopes on the fifth day of May 1939 and was used only from October 1946 regular civilian flights. 1960 took the airport is a tarmac runway in operation, which still acts as the main course. In 2004, a new terminal is in operation. The airport is maintained and operated by the local government.

The airport is used exclusively civil today and has given the importance of the Channel Islands for British tourists numerous scheduled flights to various destinations in the UK.
