The Guerrilla Girls are an anonymous since 1985 operating group of artists from New York, whose trademarks are gorilla masks.

The members use pseudonyms as the names of dead women artists, such as. Frida Kahlo, Eva Hesse, Paula Modersohn -Becker, Käthe Kollwitz, Gertrude Stein, Georgia O'Keeffe. How large is the group really is and who belongs, is not known. The poster and postcard campaigns and public appearances by the Guerrilla Girls make to the exclusion of women and non-whites from the art world attention.

On the concept of the group it belongs to, that they can be booked for performances and workshops. The Guerrilla Girls promote spin-offs and start-ups of similar groups. So there are the Guerrilla Girls On Tour Inc., a traveling theater company, operate the three former Guerrilla Girls.
