Guided by Voices

Guided by Voices (abbreviated GbV ) is an indie band to Robert Pollard from Dayton, Ohio, United States. The band is considered one of the pioneers of lo-fi.

Career

GbV was founded in the early 1980s, but gained only at the beginning of the 1990s on regional notoriety. The album Bee Thousand in 1994 is considered one of the milestones of the Lo-Fi, the single from the I Am a Scientist was one of the hits of the independent scene.

When Guided by Voices especially the high number of published songs falls on. These are characterized by the typical lo-fi recording quality relatively modest, short duration of many under two minutes and unusual song structures with partially abrupt ends.

The group underwent many cast changes, with Pollard as the only constant member. 2004 announced Pollard, Guided by Voices dissolve at the end of the year. The hitherto last concert was held in Chicago on December 31, 2004.

In 2011, the band reunited in the occupation of the 1990s. A new album ( Let's Go Eat the Factory) was published on 24 January 2012.
