Guido Görres

Guido Moritz Gorres ( born May 28, 1805 in Koblenz, † July 14, 1852 in Munich) was a writer.

Life

Guido Gorres, son of the Catholic journalist Joseph Gorres, studied history and philosophy in Bonn.

In the course of his historical works, he concluded, inter alia with Charles de Montalembert in contact and turned in the 1830s increasingly to writing about. In addition, Gorres was always active in the Catholic political journalism and had the Eos or Gorres link connection and contact with leading conservative Catholic circles. Together with George Phillips he was involved in the founding of the Historical- political music for Catholic Germany of his father. After his father's death he took over the editorship.

Gorres wrote mainly sacred songs, some of which also found the entrance to the popular songs.
