Guinate

Guinate is a place on the Canary Island of Lanzarote, belonging to the northern municipality of Haria. Guinate has 36 inhabitants ( 2011).

This small village is located at the foot of Monte Corona volcano in the midst of a fertile plateau. A handful of white houses and the small chapel Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes give the village its appearance. Each year it hosts the next Sunday the 11th of February, a pilgrimage place.

Just outside there is the lying to nearly 400 meters high lookout point Mirador de Guinate, which opens up a view of the Risco de Famara up to Chinijo archipelago with the islands of La Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Roque del Oeste and Alegranza. Near this viewing terrace of 1990 is opened by Englishmen Tropical Park. This houses on an area of ​​around 4,500 square meters approximately 1,300 exotic plants and animals, including many birds.
