Guiniforte Solari

Guiniforte Solari ( * 1429, † 1481 ) was an Italian architect and sculptor.

Life

As an architect of the " Ospedale Maggiore " Solari was the successor of the sculptor and architect Filarete ( 1400-1469 ). Later he asked the Duke of Milan, Francesco Sforza I. (1401-1466), with the construction of the Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie and overseeing the work at the Milan Cathedral. For some time he was also the architect of his father, Giovanni (1410-1480) started Certosa di Pavia. Father and son were both the architecture of the Italian Gothic faithful.
