Gulf of Fethiye

The Gulf of Fethiye is a large bay in the southwest of Turkey. To the east of the Gulf lies the town of Fethiye and the same in the northwest of the town of Gocek. The Gulf Coast begins at the peninsula at Cape Kapıdağı Kurdoglu and ends south of the historic village Kayaköy at Cape İlbis (formerly Karmylassos ) in the east. Within the partially up to 200 meters deep Gulf are twelve small to medium sized islands. The largest islands are Domuz, Gocek, Yassıcalar, Tersane, Katrancık, Delitaş, Kızıl and Zeytin.

In ancient Greece, the bay was named by Golf Telmessus.
