Gülgöze, Mardin

Gülgöze (Arabic Ayn al - Ward; Syro -Aramaic ܥ ܝ ܢ ܘ ܪ ܕ ܐ, Inwardo; Kurdish Ewert ) is a village in the district of Midyat the Turkish province of Mardin. Gülgöze is located about 77 km northeast of the provincial capital and 11 km east of Mardin Midyat. According to the last census Gülgöze had 210 inhabitants ( as of December 2009).

Many Syrian Orthodox Syrians abandoned in the 1980s due to the prevailing conflict between the Turkish government and the PKK the village and migrated to Europe. Today the population consists mainly of Kurds, Arabs and Mhallami to the small part of Arameans.
