Gundersen method

The Gundersen method is a start-up mode in the Nordic combined. Originally had to be calculated using a complex key in the Nordic combined after the cross-country, who had won the competition. The Norwegian Gunder Gundersen developed in the 1980s named after him start mode. In this mode, the athletes go with time intervals in the long run, which were calculated on the basis of the branch outcome.

Per meter jump distance up to 1.2 points on the normal hill two points are calculated on the large hill. The two points difference then correspond to eight seconds between starters. The fact that the first cross-country skiers who comes to the finish, also the winner of the competition is, this method of cross-country launch is spectator friendly than the classic version.
