Gunilla Bergström

Gunilla Bergström ( b. 1942 ) is a Swedish journalist, author and illustrator of a series of popular children's books, the main characters are the little Alfie Atkins and his father.

Gunilla Bergström came to Stockholm in 1966 and first worked for newspapers Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter. Since her debut as a children's book author published 30 books to date.

The books are distinguished by their deep understanding of the world of children with their problems and special treats. On idyllization childhood is waived, problems are appropriate for children modeled, represented and solved. The directness of the illustrations, causes children and adults include the figure of the Willi directly into her heart.
