Gunnar Steinn Jónsson

Gunnar Jónsson ( born May 4, 1987 in Akureyri ) is a handball player from Iceland.

The 1.92 meter tall and 90 kilogram back player initially played at the Icelandic HK Kópavogs. From 2009, he stood at HK Drott under contract. In the summer of 2012, Gunnar Jónsson joined the French first division HBC Nantes. For the 2014/15 season he moved to German Bundesliga club VfL Gummersbach and receives a contract until 2016.

For the Icelandic national team, he stood in the extended squad for the World Cup 2011, he has played 10 matches and scored 12 goals.
