Mary Stuart - blood, terror, and betrayal (Original Title: Gunpowder, Treason and Plot ) of Gillies MacKinnon is a television history two-parter of the English BBC from 2004, which is based in Scotland and England in the 16th and early 17th century. The title role of Mary Stuart plays the French actress Clemence Poesy.

Action

Part one tells the tale of Mary Queen of Scots from her arrival in Scotland, after their previous spouse, the king died of France, until their detention at the behest of their rivals. The second part deals with the life of her son, James I of Scotland and England, while in custody at this time Mary Stuart makes its appearance only briefly in passing. One focus of the second part is the stop attempt by Guy Fawkes.

Background

The two-part TV was the first English-language role of Clemence Poesy, who had later about the film adaptations of Harry Potter international success.
