Günter Mast

Günter Mast ( born July 4, 1926 in Braunschweig, † 28 February, 2011 Lutterloh ) was a German manager.

Life

Mast grew up in Braunschweig and Wolfenbüttel. His father emigrated in 1936 because of an extramarital affair with a Jewish woman to Brazil, during the 10 -year-old Günter and his brother stayed with his mother in Wolfenbüttel. After graduation and military service Günter Mast studied economics in Hamburg. He then briefly worked for the finance department of the Braunschweiger Zeitung.

Mast stepped in 1952 with 26 years in the company of his uncle Curt Mast, and in 1987 chairman of the board of Mast-Jägermeister AG, whose best-known product of the herbal liqueur Jägermeister is. In 1997 he retired from business operations. Mast never owned one share of the company.

Became known as mast sponsor of Eintracht Braunschweig and the Jägermeister advertising in professional sports and in the media. In the 1973 football season, the players of Eintracht Braunschweig wore jerseys with the first Jägermeister Hubertus stag and the Jägermeister logo on the chest. From 1983 to 1986, took pole and the presidency of the association.

Mast lived for 30 years in Lenggries on a farm, he also owned a farm near Celle. He went there after in addition to the hunting and the timber industry. He was with the vet Irma bulk mast that comes from Hannover, married in second marriage. From his first marriage three children come.

Günter Mast died on 28 February 2011 at the age of 84 years on the effects of a stroke.
