Günter Weitling
Günter wide Ling (* 1935 in Haderslev, South Jutland, Denmark ) is an ev - luth.Theologe, church historian and author.
Life and work
Günther wide Ling lives in Padborg / Denmark). After his high school classical languages in 1955 at the cathedral Hadersleben he studied theology and Oriental Studies in Bethel / Bielefeld, Mainz, Kiel and Copenhagen. This was followed by a study of pedagogy in Breklum and staying at seminary in Preetz. From 1962 to 1963 he was pastor in Jörl (Kreis Schleswig -Flensburg ), 1963-1965 Sonderburg (Northern Schleswig ), from 1965 to 1970 at the Højdevangskirke in Copenhagen. At the same time he completed a clerkship at the high school Tårnby with the subjects of religion, history and archeology. In 1970 he received his doctorate at the Christian -Albrechts -University of Kiel Dr. theol .. From 1970 to 1987 he worked as a senior teacher at the Danish School in Sønderborg. 1987 until his retirement in 2000 he was again pastor of the Danish National Church for the German population of the municipality in Sonderborg. At the same time he worked as a lecturer at the " Institute of Church History and Church Archaeology " at the Christian- Albrechts -University of Kiel. Part-time wide- Ling was the founder and from 1986 to 2003 scientific director of the Deutsches Museum North Schleswig in Sonderborg.
Günther wide Ling has written a large number of books and essays since 1971, and published. They deal mainly with church history and mission history of Schleswig and the history of the German minority in North Schleswig.
