Günther Haase

Günther Haase ( born June 11, 1925 in Hamburg ) is a former German diver, in 1952 won the Olympic bronze medal in platform diving.

Haase was in 1941 and 1942 German Vice Champion in high diving. In 1943, he won his first national title. After the war he won from 1947 to 1951, In 1949 he was also master of the 1- meter board and the 3- meter board. 1955 and 1956 he won twice from the tower.

1950 Haase European Champion in high diving. At the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, he was able to confirm his status as the best Europeans. Behind the American Samuel Lee and the Mexicans Joaquín Capilla, he won the Olympic bronze medal.

Haase began his career in TV Hamburg -Eppendorf. About SC Hamburg- Eilbeck he came to Post SV Hamburg, for which he took up in 1947. After two years at SV Neptun Erkenschwick he launched in 1950 for the SV Neptun Lüdenscheid.
