Gunther Scholz

Gunther Scholz ( born October 9, 1944 in Görlitz ) is a German film director and writer.

Life

Scholz began after high school and a typesetter teaching first a study of theater arts before he was drafted into the NVA. He attended film school Babelsberg in 1971 and put his directing diploma.

Since then, Gunther Scholz was a freelance director in film, television and at various theaters in the GDR. In 1973 he was assistant director at the DEFA from 1978 to 1991, Scholz director at the DEFA Studio for Feature Films. Since the collapse of the GDR, he is a freelance writer and director in television dramas and series, but mostly worked in the division documentary. He lives in Berlin.
