Gustav Heine von Geldern

Gustav Freiherr von Heine-Geldern (* 1803 or 1805 - June by others, certainly misstatement only 18 in 1810 or 1812 - in Dusseldorf, † November 15, 1886 in Vienna ) was a German -Austrian publicist.

Life

After attending school in Hamburg Gustav Heine studied at the universities of Halle and Göttingen. Then he worked in agriculture and as a businessman. In 1831 he joined as a cadet in the 6th Moravian Dragoon Regiment in Bohemia, in 1832 sub-lieutenant in 1836 and promoted to lieutenant and served as such from 1838 to 1844 in the 3rd Galician Chevaux - Leger Regiment in Transylvania.

In 1847 he founded the daily newspaper in Vienna Bed - sheet, which became the official organ of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On March 30, 1867, he was awarded the Order of the Iron Crown III. Class ( Knight's Cross ) awarded and thus elevated to the nobility or knighthood. On September 24, 1870, he was elevated to the rank of baron and his name connected on 20 October 1870, the additional money ( his mother's family name). In 1878 he was awarded the - on the adjacent picture particularly eye-catching - Franz -Joseph- Order, Second Class ( Commander's Cross with Star ). He was owner of the manors Schoenkirchen, Raggendorf, Neuhof and Straßhof.

He came from the family Heine and was the brother of Heinrich Heine. One of his sons, Maximilian Freiherr von Heine-Geldern, the libretto for the operetta Mirolan.
