Gustavo Cerati

Gustavo Adrián Cerati Clark ( born August 11, 1959 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine musician and singer-songwriter.

Career

In the 1980s and 1990s he was a member, along with Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio of the Argentine rock band Soda Stereo Spanish. Also in the early 90s he started a solo career.

In 1991 he published with Daniel Melero album Colores Santos. In 1994 his first solo album, Amor Amarillo. In the title song affect Hector (Zeta) Bosio, ex - bass player for Soda Stereo with. The song Bajan was a remake of a work by Luis Alberto Spinetta.

After his band's career was published in 1999 his album Bocanada with electronic samples and beats that he wanted to call Cerati Iluminado because of the lyrics and music. The album Bien 2001 contained the soundtrack of the eponymous film directed by Eduardo Capilla. In this film Cerati made ​​his debut as an actor. He produced another soundtrack for the film, Solo Por Hoy. In the same year he published 11 Episodios Sinfonicos, live recordings of a concert with a classical orchestra, with which he played some of his most popular songs. With it Siempre Hoy he offered 2002 new musical perspectives. A year later it appeared under the title Siempre Hoy / Reversiones a collection of remixes that have been recorded by various artists of electronic music from around the world. The rock album Ahí vamos of 2006, which produced Hector Castillo and Tweety Gonzalez, combined Ceratis guitar music with a melodic style. Within a day it reached platinum in Argentina.

Cerati has several alter egos in electronic music, including Plan V, Ocio and Roken. He has produced albums for other artists; the best known are Sueños en Transito for Nicole and Mar for Leo García as well as for the band Friccion. He also worked together with Caifanes, Los Calzones, and Shakira.

Cerati won on 2 November 2006 Latin Grammy for best rock album and best rock song.

On March 10, 2007 Cerati gave a free concert in a square in Buenos Aires, which was the conclusion of the summer program, the city administration and attracted 150000-200000 viewers.

July 7, 2007 Cerati joined together with Shakira at the Live Earth concert in Hamburg.

Personal

From 1992 to 2002 Cerati was married to Chilean model Cecilia Amenábar, with whom he has two children. His wife participated as a singer in his first solo album, Amor Amarillo. Later he was associated with the model Déborah de Corral, who was in his mid -90s the girlfriend of Charly Alberti. She appeared as a guest singer on the album Siempre There Hoy. On 15 May 2010 Cerati suffered after a concert in Caracas a stroke and has since been in a coma.
