Gustavo Martínez Frías

Gustavo Martínez Frías (* May 30, 1935 in Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia; † August 29, 2009 in Cúcuta, Norte de Santander) was Archbishop of Nueva Pamplona.

Life

Gustavo Martínez Frías studied from 1954 to 1960 Philosophy and Theology at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and received on 27 November 1960, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Socorro y San Gil. He was professor of philosophy and theology at the seminary in San Gil and prefect and vice-chancellor. He has also been episcopal vicar of the Ecclesiastical Province of San Gil and Vicar General of the Diocese of Socorro y San Gil.
