Gustavo Rojo
Gustavo Rojo ( born September 5, 1923 in Montevideo, Uruguay Gustavo Rojo Pinto ) is a Spanish actor and film producer.
Life
Rojo was born on board the German freighter Crefeld on the way from Lisbon to Montevideo and is a son of the well-known Spanish writer Mercedes Pinto. He made his acting debut at the age of 20 years in Mexico in the movie Mis hijos (1944).
His first of many international roles he played in Tarzan and the Mermaids ( Tarzan in danger ) (1948 ) on the side of Johnny Weissmuller. Many other film work in Mexico followed (including with director Luis Buñuel ) and Spain, he also starred in the epic film Alexander the Great (1956 ) on the side of Richard Burton, in The Betrothed of Death ( 1957) with Hans Albers, Operation Tiger ( 1957) with the young Sean Connery and Hollywood productions with Glenn Ford ( A great number, 1960) or Roger Moore ( the Madonna with two faces, 1959) with.
The marriage with the Austrian Erika Remberg brought him to the German film. Rojo worked in Dr. Mabuse - movies, thrillers and even home movies. For his participation in the Karl May movies, Old Shatterhand, The Treasure of the Aztecs, The Pyramid of the Sun God, Through the wild Kurdistan and in the realm of the Silver Lion as well as the embodiment of the " Winnetou " at the Karl -May- performances in Berlin Germany Hall 1966 and 1968 received Gustavo Rojo 2004 donated by the Karl- May-Museum " Sharlee " award.
In 1969, he starred in The Valley of Gwangi ( Gwangis revenge ), one of the best works of animators Ray Harryhausen. Beginning of the 1970s, Gustavo Rojo went back to Mexico, where he is regularly seen today in movies, television series and theater work. Currently, he plays in the successful telenovela Amor Destilando with.
His daughter Ana Patricia Rojo is a successful actress.
