Guy Dollé

Guy Dolle ( born October 31, 1942 in Roye -sur -Matz, Oise, France) was until 2006 Director (CEO) of the steel group Arcelor.

Biography

Dolle was born the son of a glazier's art. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Metz to in Northern France. Later he studied at the École Polytechnique in Paris. In 1966 he worked in the Research of the steel industry, " IRSID " in Metz. In 1976 he married. In 1980 he went into the management of the steel group Usinor and was head of the Division for " Sheet Metal & Tubes " From April to May 1993, he was chairman of the Saar Stahl AG, after registration of the bankruptcy proceedings, he had to resign. In the same year he became CEO and chairman of Usinor. In 1995, he was Executive Vice President responsible for " planning and international relations." In 1997 he was for the division " stainless steels and alloys ". He was Senior Executive Vice President of the Group in 1999. 2002 after the merger of Arbed and Aceralia with Usinor he became Chief Executive Officer of the Group. After the hostile takeover of Arcelor by Mittal Steel Company on 25 June 2006 Lakshmi Mittal took over the post of Managing Director.

Dolle has a son and a daughter.
