Life

Guy Goffette published his first book of poetry in 1969. Since then he has worked as an editor at the publishing house Éditions Gallimard. Goffettes poetry was compared with that of Paul Verlaine (via the Goffette wrote a fictional biography): The French poet Yves Bonnefoy said:

" Goffette is a legacy of Verlaine. A poet who has decided very brave, credible to remain with his own life in the most humble moments. He keeps things simple, he is wonderfully capable of feelings and desires that are common to us all capture. Goffette is without question one of the best poets of the present in France. "

In addition to his poetry and fiction written Goffette numerous essays and writes regularly for the Nouvelle Revue Française as a critic.
